So many people ask me about the camera I use, thinking this is the secret weapon to make great photos. Here’s a confession: it’s not. A good camera is just a tool. You can do really great things with a humble iPhone.

I have Nikon D700 and my favorite is the Nikon 24-70 mm 2.8. This lens pretty much lives on my camera. I sometimes reach for the Lensbaby Edge 80 Optic with a Composer Pro or the Nikon macro 105 mm 2.8. I use Lightroom 5 to work on my pictures and love the VSCO film emulations.

I strongly believe that photography is not about the latest piece of equipment, it is a matter of having a vision and succeeding in sharing it. If you want to learn more about it, I highly recommend the books by David duChemin.
